About the Short Film
The Emmy-winning documentary film The Love Bugs provides an exceptional opportunity for you and your students to become amateur entomologists and discover the wonder of small creatures, just like the entomologists in the film do. It also provides a process for understanding the nature of love through your students’ eyes and through those of a couple who have worked and lived together for 60 years. This activity from lesson plans for Grades 3-5 inspired by the short film is a fun hands-on activity for students. The lesson is available in Spanish and English. The film is 34 minutes long and is available to stream for free.
This is a great art activity for Earth Month! And the film, which explores the love of nature and the nature of love, is a great choice to screen for Valentine's Day.
